Washington State Authorizes Use of Legal Technicians

June 22, 2012

According to an article in today’s ABA newsletter, Washington State is now allowing non-laywer, legal technicians, to assist people in simple court matters. The Court sees this as a way of increasing affordable access to the Courts. This contrasts with another article on how only 55% of last year’s law graduates found legal employment. There certainly does seem to be a disconnect happening in the legal system. I rarely see consumers represented in County or Small Claims Courts here in Leon County. What do you think of this solution?
